SARUTAHIKO – Tokubetsu Junmai
With a prayer to open the way.
A Sacred Start for New Beginnings
Every journey begins with a single step.
This sake was born from a desire to accompany you in moments of transition—
when stepping into the unknown or embracing a new chapter in life.
SARUTAHIKO is named after Sarutahiko-no-Okami, the Shinto deity known as the “God Who Opens the Way.”
It is a sake for moments of blessing, reflection, and heartfelt intention—
whether offered in celebration or sipped in silent resolve.
May this bottle become a light on your path forward.
Who Is Sarutahiko-no-Okami?
In the ancient text Kojiki, Sarutahiko is described as the guide who led the heavenly deities to earth.
He is revered as the god who clears paths, illuminates crossroads, and protects travelers.
Symbolizing beginnings, decisions, and life transitions,
Sarutahiko also represents the practical, grounded wisdom needed to walk your own path.
This sake is a companion for:
- Ceremonial milestones
- Important life choices
- Personal growth and new journeys
A Name Rooted in Divine Connection
The name SARUTAHIKO was bestowed upon our brewery during the fourth generation of the Ito family.
It stands alongside UZUME, named for the goddess of joy and festivity, as a cherished spiritual title.
Both names come from local traditions and shrines we are deeply connected to.
And so, this sake carries with it not only craftsmanship,
but also a prayerful spirit passed down through generations.
